Matrix is an
independent indoor marching percussion ensemble based out of Akron,
Ohio. Matrix was formed in 1999 as a competitive indoor drumline
and competes in the Winter
Guard International and Mid
East Performance Association circuits in the Independent
World class. Members of Matrix
come primarily from the state of Ohio and surrounding states and range in age from 16 to 23. Matrix has consistently been a MEPA and WGI Finalist since 1999. Matrix earned the bronze medal in WGI Open Class in 2000 and was a WGI Independent World Class finalist in 2005, 2006, and 2007. |

Latest News The 2008 Season Matrix finished a successful season by finishing 9th at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio with a score of 89.7. Special thanks to all of our alumni, supporters, and fans who helped us throughout the year. Information about the 2009 season will be posted late in the summer. Check back often!
We're back after a very successful trip to Europe! Special thanks to Mark Reynolds and Dynasty USA, Jean Paul and Muremo, Innovative Percussion, Sabian, Remo, Rod Owens, Brian Hickman, the GLASSMEN Drum and Bugle Corps, Father Ryan High School members and staff, and everyone that we met that were all so welcoming. We had an amazing experience performing at the IPE Championships, participating in clinics, getting to know the staff and performers of Father Ryan High School, visiting Brussels, Brugge, and Paris, keeping up with Jean Paul, meeting a lot of great people that are pushing the activity forward in Europe, and of course, rehearsing! We have one weekend left to rehearse and gear up for WGI Championships. We hope to see you there! 2008 Performances Latest scores and video of our performance in Dayton can be found at www.wgi.org.
